Profile Photos
On the last day of school, I told students that I made a YouTube account and I have one person subscribe to me. I also said please give me pictures to make it a profile photo of the page. Happily, two students visited me today to give me pictures. That’s so sweet.
Long Ago
There are pictures of girls with the long jaw. It comes from an English phrase, long ago. Ago in sounds means “jaw” in Japanese. She has started drawing people with long jaw since then. Well, in terms of English, long ago means in the past but I think it is a nice way to connect image and meaning in a second language.
Pien
A man with a yellow color has a unique facial expression. It is “pien” expression, which got famous last year. It shows sad and originally from pleading face in emoji.
Sample Usage:
A: I will improve my English and get a good score on the exam!
B: Then, you should do your English homework first.
A: Pien.
A: 英語を上達させてテストでいい点を取るぞ！
B: じゃあまず宿題をしようね。
A: ぴえん。
Macho Man
They know that I often work out and my goal of this school year is to lift 100kg on barbel press. That’s why they draw a macho man, saying 筋肉は裏切らない！(The muscle will never betray us!). These words come from what I sometimes say to make students laugh:
You know, sometimes friends may not do what you want even though you do all the best for them. It is reality. However, the muscle never betrays you. What if you felt it betrayed you, it would be You who betrayed first. Thus, the muscle will never betray us.

マッチョマン
