English Club
At the first club as an English school, we’ve decided the student leader, what activities we will do, and we listened to some English songs and sang some of them.
Last year, they played English games and sang songs. Today, we listened to “Daydream Believer”, “Do Re Mi”, “We will rock you”, “Yesterday”, “Paprika”, and “Gurenge”. I asked them what song they want to practice and they said “Gurenge”. This is a theme song from a very famous Japanese comic/ anime, “Demon Slayer”. One singer translated and sings it in English.

英語クラブで英語の歌を歌いました。いくつか聴いてみて、興味のある曲を練習してみようと伝えました。意外にも鬼滅の刃で有名になった紅蓮華の英語版が一番人気でした。昨年中学校で練習したこともあるので、プリントも用意してあるので、個人的にはちょっと嬉しいです。
日本で有名になった曲も、Youtubeなどでは外国人アーティストの方が見事な訳で歌っていることがあります。興味を持つきっかけになればいいかと思います。
ちなみに、歌詞の
Finally you’ve given me a reason to be strong. などは、完了形や第四文型、さらには不定詞の形容詞的用法が使用されており、中学２年生にピッタリの言語材料になっています。
追記
英語版の歌詞はコピーができる状態で公開されており、日本語訳は私訳のためPDFを付けていますが、著作権の関係で削除することがあるかもしれません。
