In Japan, March 14th is regarded as “White Day.” It is the day that boys give girls chocolate or something sweet in return of the gift on the Valentines day. Yes, here typically girls give chocolates on the Valentines day, February 14th.
Origin
In general, boys return something to girls on the White day, and its origin was commercial oriented. One candy company made the white day as the answer day of the valentines day. Pretty interestingly, the custom spread all over Japan now. By the time I studied in the US when I was a college student, I thought it is known worldwide. I remember I was very surprised that I got to know it was a unique event in Japan.

While writing this post here, a thought came up my mind. That is, I have written about the white day before. Actually, it was. Apparently, I do not “change” a lot in a year. ^^;
